Greg Abraham started work as an apprentice mechanic in 1965 at Southern Service Station when bowsers where still on the footpath. Working on cars, trucks, tractors and machinery. Massey Ferguson was the first agency for Southern Service Station which was operated at another premises in town for a year or so, until Southern Service Station built a new shed onto their old tin shed and extended in the late 60’s. Hence the name change to Southern Service Centre. MF TEA-20’s, MF35’s and 135 petrols were common and Greg got his grounding into Massey Ferguson and attended some service schools on tractors and balers etc.

In 1977, Greg and his wife Carmel, decided the time was right to have a go on there own. As Carmel was a bookkeeper it could work. And work it did. In 1979 they purchased the business and premises and have built their reputation maintaining unparalleled dedication to skills and servicing, with integrity and honesty. Southern Service Centre is a highly awarded Massey Ferguson dealer supporting over 35 years of industry in the region. The times have been tough with many a drought, yet this dealership has stood the test of time. Many dealers and agencies have come and gone and Southern Service Centre remains the only one in town.

Southern Service Centre has employed numerous apprentices and qualified mechanics over the years and realise to succeed you have to have experienced people around and keep up to speed by regularly attending service schools. Not only do we sell tractors and machinery we also have a large range of spare parts for all other brands of tractors and machinery. Also there is something for everyone with the famous BARE-CO range of tractor accessories and PTO shafts.

Our objective remains the same and that is to stay competitive without compromising superior customer service.
